Take the AssessmentA structured 1:1 coaching session with Dr. Ferrell. Not therapy. A focused experience that gives you clarity, language, and a concrete path forward.
Request a SessionOne-on-one telehealth therapy for clients in Washington State and California. Your first session (intake) is $225. FSA and HSA accepted.
InquireI am not paneled with any insurance company. That is a deliberate choice, not a limitation: it means no session limits set by an insurer, no diagnosis required to justify care, and a treatment plan built entirely around you.
If you have a PPO plan, you likely still have real options for using it. See below.
If you'd rather not go through a network partner, or your plan isn't part of it, you're not out of options. Here are the four ways clients work with me, so you can pick what actually fits.
Pay the session fee, nothing else happens. No paperwork, no insurance involved at all.
Pay only your estimated out-of-pocket portion up front, similar to a copay. Thrizer handles the rest, including submitting the claim for you.
Pay the session fee, then use a receipt I provide to request reimbursement from your insurance company yourself.
Pay with pre-tax dollars from a health savings or flexible spending account, by card or by submitting for reimbursement afterward.
Thrizer is a payment platform built specifically for out-of-network therapy. Instead of paying the full fee and waiting weeks for your insurance company to reimburse you, Thrizer lets you pay only the portion you're actually expected to owe. Thrizer covers the rest of the fee up front, then submits the claim to your insurance company and collects the reimbursed portion directly, so you're not the one chasing paperwork.
Say a session costs $195, and your plan is expected to reimburse 75% once your deductible is met.
Instead of paying $195 and waiting for reimbursement, you pay around $50 up front, and that's it.
This is an estimate, not a guarantee. Your actual responsibility depends on your specific plan and deductible status, which is exactly what the benefits checker below is for.
Before you ever book, you can check your estimated out-of-pocket cost using the benefits checker below.
If you'd rather handle reimbursement yourself instead of using Thrizer, a superbill is the other path. It's an itemized receipt, not a bill and not an insurance claim, that includes everything your insurance company needs to consider reimbursing you.
Call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask: Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services? What percentage is reimbursed once my deductible is met? Have I met my deductible this year? How long does reimbursement typically take?

Therapy is a qualified medical expense under IRS rules. HSA funds are yours to keep and roll over year to year, and most HSA plans come with a debit card you can use directly. FSA funds are typically use-it-or-lose-it and tied to your employer; some plans include a debit card, and others require you to pay out of pocket and submit your receipt for reimbursement.

From Pattern to Pathway ($95) is a one-time, structured coaching session available to clients anywhere in the United States. It does not establish a therapeutic relationship, is not a clinical service, and cannot use insurance, FSA, or HSA funds. It gives you a written recovery plan and a concrete next step.
Individual Therapy ($195/session, $225 intake) is an ongoing clinical relationship focused on your diagnosis, treatment, and mental health care over time, limited to clients in Washington State and California, and is eligible for insurance, FSA, and HSA.
Life happens, and I ask for the same courtesy I extend to you. Sessions require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or no-shows with less than 24 hours notice are responsible for the full session fee, charged the day of the missed appointment.
If I need to cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice, you will receive a banked late cancellation pass. That means the next time you need to cancel late, the fee is waived.
See the "Coaching vs. Therapy" comparison above for a full breakdown. In short: coaching is a one-time strategy session, not a clinical service, and therapy is an ongoing clinical relationship eligible for insurance and FSA/HSA.
When you submit a booking request you will receive an acknowledgment right away. Dr. Ferrell reviews all requests and confirms appointments manually. You will receive a confirmation once your requested time has been accepted. This process typically takes one business day.
Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Before your appointment you will receive a link to join. All you need is a private space, a device, and a reliable internet connection. Telehealth is just as effective as in-person therapy and for many people it is more accessible.
Telehealth therapy is available for clients located in Washington State and California. All sessions are conducted via telehealth so you can attend from anywhere within those states.
Yes. Therapy is an eligible expense under most FSA and HSA plans. You can pay directly with your FSA or HSA debit card at the time of your session. Note that FSA and HSA cannot be used for the coaching session as it is not a clinical service.
The first session is your intake, priced at $225. We talk about what brings you to therapy, what your life looks like right now, and what you are hoping to work toward. It is also a chance for us to get a real sense of each other. By the end we will have a clearer picture of your goals and a plan for moving forward. Sessions after your intake are $195.
See the Cancellation Policy above for full details. In short: 24 hours notice is required, and late cancellations or no-shows are charged the full session fee.
