I created the REST Framework after seeing the same pattern again and again: high-capacity women functioning on the outside while their bodies carried the cost of chronic stress, role saturation, and overfunctioning.
My work sits at the intersection of mental health, the body, and the structural pressures that wear women down, particularly Black women who have been praised for a strength that was never supposed to be a life sentence.
My research and lived understanding of this work are grounded in the specific experience of Black women. My practice is open to high-capacity women of every background who see themselves in this pattern.
I hold a Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy (DMFT) from Touro University Worldwide. My licensure is held under my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with an emphasis in Professional Clinical Counseling, from a COAMFTE-accredited program at Touro University Worldwide. My doctoral research examined socioeconomic and structural barriers preventing Black Americans from entering the MFT profession, work that reflects the same commitment to equity I bring to every clinical relationship.
In session, I draw primarily on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), grounded in a trauma-informed, mindfulness-based approach. Each client's plan is matched to what will actually help them, not a one-size-fits-all script.
I help women understand what is happening beneath the surface, quiet the constant activation, and build lives that have room for them in it.
Work With Me"I show up every day looking like I have it together. But underneath there is a weight nobody sees."
"The anxiety is quiet but constant. Humming in the background of every decision I make."
"I have accomplished everything I set out to. I still do not feel okay."
"I cannot remember the last time I did something just for me. Not for anyone else."
"I am tired of performing an identity that was handed to me before I was old enough to choose it."
"My nervous system has been on high alert for so long that rest does not even feel safe."
